GIM43501S ** THE CALL TO THE CSNBOWH SERVICE FAILED Installing CA XCOM for z/OS 12.0

Issue/Introduction

When I run the JCL CAUNZIP to unpack the ZIP file for XCOM maintenance, I get this error:

GIM43501S ** THE CALL TO THE CSNBOWH SERVICE FAILED REASON CODE WAS '00003E80'X 

 

Environment

Release:  CA XCOM Data Transport for z/OS 12.0
Component: XCMVS

Cause

That function that is failing has nothing to do with SSL/TLS or XCOM. SMP/E is calling the CSNBOWH service to calculate a "One Way Hash" This is a function of SMP/E.

 

 

Resolution

Request that your security administrator run a violation report to see what the violation is so he or she knows what resource to give you access to.
