Issue/Introduction

Customers need to know if there are any compatibility issues to consider for the Broadcom Mainframe products when upgrading to new releases of OEM software such as z/OS, CICS, DB2, etc., or hardware, such as z/Enterprise Machines. Where can this information be found?     

 

 

Environment

Executing various Broadcom Mainframe products in a z/OS environment and upgrading to a newer machine or OEM software.   

Cause

Requesting compatibility information when upgrading.   

Resolution

The Broadcom Software Support portal does offer a compatibility matrix for information on any required maintenance needed for the Broadcom Mainframe products and OEM hardware and software. 
In order to access the matrix, follow the steps below:   

1. If not already signed in, login to the Broadcom Software Support Portal 
2. From the home page, click the Mainframe Software tile
3. On the next display, click on the Compatibility Matrix tile found on the left side of the page below the search box 
4. The resulting page will indicate Mainframe Compatibilities presented as a series of links for different software packages such as CICS, DB2, z/OS, etc.and a link for z/Enterprise Machines for information for z/12 and later machines.  Click on the relevant link.
5. Enter the Mainframe product name in the search box at the top of the page and the matrix will display the information for any supported release of the Broadcom product.
