System performance can be improved if abended transactions, loops and other abnormal processing conditions are detected promptly in an IDMS system.
The following mechanisms exist within IDMS to detect this kind of abnormal processing:

• External Wait Time
• Inactive Interval
• Internal Wait time
• Resource Timeout Interval
• Runaway Interval
• Deadlock Detection Interval
• Ticker Interval
