Issue/Introduction

Running CA DISK UNLOAD with DAYS=nn specified does not delete all LOG Data Sets older than nn days as expected. What could be the reason for that?

Resolution

UNLOAD deletes LOG Data Sets only, that belong to the Files Data Set being unloaded.

Browse the LOG Data Sets, which have not been deleted and verify the Data Set Name of the Files Data Set starting at column 1.

If the Data Set Name refers to a different Files Data Set run UNLOAD against this Files Data Set as well or delete the LOG Data Sets manually, if no longer needed or if they were created for a temporary Files Data Set, which no longer exists.

NOTE: DAYS=nn is used only if the ALL parameter is specified on the UNLOAD command
