Issue/Introduction

The following error may occur in the GUI when a job is activated

"The CAF API failed to send a trigger command to a Scalability Server [CMM000315]"

There are no references for the same error in the CAF logs 

Environment

CA Client Automation - All Versions

Cause

It may happen that some internal activities related to the Antivirus in the environment may affect the communication between the CA Client Automation components

Resolution

One of the most valuated cause is the Antivirus upgrade in the environment.
The communication ports used by CA Client Automation may be affected / closed:

4104 (UDP)
4105 (TCP)
4728 (TCP)
7
163 (TCP)

Using the commands:

Caf ping <hostname or ip>

Camping -a <hostname or ip>

you could obtain the confirmation that the communication between Domain and Scalability fails or is in timeout.

You should also work with the network security team in order to restore the communication and have the ports opened bidirectionally.
