Issue/Introduction

Problem: 

Installation of Web Viewer 12.1 on Windows hangs and does not complete. This happens when "Install Tomcat as a Service" is Selected

Component: Microsoft Windows, Apache Tomcat, Java Runtime (JRE):

Resolution

If you are using the JAVA Runtime, you must set JRE_HOME system variable. 

  1. Go to the control panel and select "Advanced System Settings" 
  2. In the System Properties window, click the Environment Variables button at the bottom right.
  3. In the "System variables" section of the Environment Variables window that opens, ensure that the JRE_HOME environment variable points to the following location: C:\Program Files\Java\jre<version>.  
  4. If this environment variable does not exist, add it to the list by selecting NEW under System variables.
  5. Click OK to close the Environment Variables window.
  6. Click Apply to close the System Properties window.
  7. Restart the server for the changes to take effect.
