Issue/Introduction

On Linux, running the command "smpolicysrv -stats" returns "The specified server is not currently running."

 

Before this error was observed, smpolicysrv was run by mistake and terminated by CTRL-C.

Environment

OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Cause

The root cause is that smpolicysrv process was invoked duplicatedly. In this case, it was by mistake. This can cause such unexpected result.

Resolution

To resolve the error, restart Policy Server. Then, try the comannd with the option "-stats" again.

 

On the other hand, ensure that running the smpolicysrv command with correct option.
