After applying a custom logo via Global Settings > Branding, the CA PAM GUI now has a messed up format similar to the image below.

<Please see attached file for image>

This issue is caused by the way the HTML of the page is setup.

Any CA PAM version before 3.0

There are 2 options to resolve this issue, either revert to the default logo or upload a new more appropriately sized image. Both of these options are available under Global Settings > Branding. Due to the way this changes the GUI formatting it may be impossible to find the Global Settings button that will need to be clicked in order to change the Branding settings. The easiest way to try and find this button would be to highlight the top bar area like shown in the screenshot above. Unless the image is exactly the same size as the demo image, it will likely have landed in a slightly different location, it may even be covered by the image.

If the Global Settings button cannot be found by highlighting, then the next step would be to use a web browser's built in developer tools to remove the image from the page. This should bring the formatting of the page back to its correct behavior. Here are some instructions to do this:

  1. Login to PAM via a browser (this will NOT work from the CA PAM Client)
  2. Right click on the image, select "inspect" or "inspect element"
  3. This should bring up a box with the HTML code of the website and the line below should be highlighted, if you do not see this line, leave the inspect window open and repeat step 2.
    • <img id="mainlogo" src="/images/lite/logo.png" alt="CA Privileged Access Manager Logo">
  4. Right click on this img element line & select "Delete Element"
  5. This should remove the image and make the Global Settings button visible again.

Note: This will only be a visual change on the local browser to make the button accessible again. This will NOT change any settings and the image WILL come back when pages are changed.

Additional Information

The recommended size for Branding logos is 160 x 40 px. Below is an example of the same appliance after a smaller logo has been applied, to demonstrate the correct formatting:
