How do I create a report to find pagefile.sys ?

Issue/Introduction

How do I create Report for pagefile.sys or any other file that shows Size and Drive Location on all clients?

 

Environment

CA Client Automation - All Versions

 

Resolution

CA  Client Automation does have something called File Scan.

 

You create a new Collect Task under:

 

All Computers\{Group Details}\Configuration\Collect Tasks

Right-Click on Collect Tasks-> New

Select File Scan

Give the Collect a name   example PageFile

Under Windows Tab

Remove All Files(*.*)

In dropdown Windows type pagefile.sys then select Add

Should be treated as a Directory     NO

At the Bottom of screen UNCHECK   Ignore Non Executable files

 

Save and run Asset Scan

 

VIEW RESULTS IN THE GUI:

After Inventory is Collected look under Agent\Software\File Explorer

CREATE A QUERY:

Select Software -> Discovered Software Existing File  like pagefile.sys

CREATE A REPORT IN REPORTER:

Create a Report -> Select Field  Software -> Files Tab Filename  pagefile.sys

       

Check off all the Fields to include in Report  Click Add then OK OK

Run Report
