Issue/Introduction

CA Performance Management alerting on aggregate CPUs or Memory on device

We have set thresholds on CPU for Windows servers and it is alerting on individual CPUs instead of on the overall utilization of all the CPUs.

Can DX NetOps Performance Management Threshold Events be raised for aggregate CPU or Memory data at the device level?

All supported DX NetOps Performance Management releases

Resolution

Support for this was added in older CA Performance Management release 2.6.

It is only available for CPU and Memory Metric Families. It only works for the Utilization % (avg) metric from those Metric Families.

When configuring Threshold Event Rules choose the CPU or Memory Metric Families. This exposes the aggregation option. Once selected it limits the metric choices to only those supported by the feature.
