Issue/Introduction

When editing an Endevor element using Quick Edit, the ISPF Edit RECOVERY option is always ON even if the user's profile has RECOVERY OFF specified. Can Endevor Quick Edit be set up to default the ISPF Edit RECOVERY option to OFF?

Resolution

Quick Edit automatically turns RECOVERY ON when starting up the QE session by design.

There is no way to customize Endevor Quick Edit to automatically set RECOVERY OFF when editing elements with QE.

It is recommended that RECOVERY be ON when using QE to edit elements so if there is some type of system failure during the edit session, all the updates made to the element can be recovered the next time the user starts a Quick Edit session.

If for some reason you want RECOVERY OFF while editing an element while in QE, you must do it manually by entering the RECOVERY OFF command after you edit the element in QE.
