Issue/Introduction

When modifying the page group of a segment, is there an impact on the areas included in the segment? Is some area conversion required in order to make the new page group effective?

Resolution

No, there is no area conversion required when adding a page group. The page group is not actually stored physically in the area. One thing to be aware of though, please ensure that there are no cross area chain sets to another area with a different page group. IDMS does support mixed page groups for index sets that cross page group definitions, but not chain sets.
