Issue/Introduction

After the Harvest database has been moved or upgraded, what tests should the Harvest Administrator run to confirm that the application is configured correctly and in working order?

Environment

Harvest Software Change Manager all versions and platforms

Resolution

The tests you might consider are

  1. Can the broker and hservers start up normally and connect to the database?
  2. Can the user login with Workbench or the Administrator Tool?
  3. Can the user navigate around his/her projects with Workbench? Create a new package? Check a file out? Check a new version of the file in?
  4. Can the Harvest admin navigate around the Administrator Tool? Create a new project? Load a repository? Create a new user?
  5. You might also watch for any change in performance - do transactions take longer than usual?

If you see problems with any of these things, contact the support team and we can help to get things working again.
