Errors Per Interval metric value does not match with the Errors reported in Error Tab

Issue/Introduction

Errors Per Interval metric value does not seem to match with the errors reported in the Error Tab, as per below sample screen shots:

Environment

- APM 10.x, 2022.x - Windows, Linux/Unix

Cause

The Errors Per Interval counter is entirely different than the Errors Tab. The data is coming from different data sources and is unrelated to each other.

 

Resolution

- The Errors Per Interval metric counts real exceptions such as HTTP Errors(404,500),Network exceptions etc..
- Errors tab reports errors from Error Detector.
