Issue/Introduction

Users may encounter an error when attempting to upload a Salesforce certificate into the Java Connector Server (JCS) for Identity Manager. This issue typically occurs if the certificate format provided by Salesforce is incompatible with the Java Connector Server requirements.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.5

Cause

The Salesforce certificate downloaded from Salesforce.com is often in a format other than .pem (e.g., DER or binary). The Identity Manager Java Connector Server requires the certificate to be in Base64-encoded .pem format to import successfully.

Resolution

  1. Ensure you have downloaded the certificate from Salesforce.com.
  2. Convert the certificate file to .pem format.
  3. Attempt the upload again using the .pem file.
  4. If the issue persists, verify that the keystore aliases are correct and that there are no conflicting aliases already present.
