Issue/Introduction

How to ensure the Disk SVC is functioning as designed by verifying the LASTUSE date has not changed in the LISTVTOC.

Resolution

After performing a Disk Management Function such as backup, archive, migration, compression or others on a dataset. Running an IEHLIST LISTVTOC against that same dataset and reviewing the dump at offset 75 for the LASTUSE date and offset 93 for the CHANGEBIT to see if it has changed. If the Disk SVCs have been applied successfully, the LASTUSE date and the CHANGEBIT will not be affected.
