When attempting to delete a global configuration on any object, like asset, model, company, contact, etc, the delete fails with the message:
The configuration is in use and cannot be deleted.
CA Asset Portfolio Manager 12.x , 14.x and 17.x
Global configurations that contain extended fields cannot be deleted from the system using the graphical interface.
A configuration can not be deleted after the extension is created. This is by design as deleting the extensions can lead to data loss and data corruption within the MDB.
The only workaround is to disable/hide the unwanted Global Configuration.
