Test Data Manager Portal login user's password reset link is not working and gives DNS related error

For Test Data Manager (TDM) Web Portal administrator user, the reset password link is not working. It shows incorrect hostname in the webpage when reset password link is clicked. It also gives a DNS related error message.

In the TDMWeb.log the below error messages can be seen:

[ERROR] [http-nio-8443-exec-2] --- [U:User][M:POST][P:/api/ca/v1/users/1138/actions/resetPassword] c.c.t.s.s.SecurityServiceUtil:  Unable to Send Mail

javax.mail.MessagingException: Mail Server is not configured

Wrapped by: org.apache.catalina.connector.ClientAbortException: java.io.IOException: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine


When the link for “Reset Password Link” is clicked, in the next screen, the host name is changed from “abcdef.xyz.net” to “adcdef”. 

“abcdef” is not recognized at customer's network level as it needs to be the full hostname. 


Test Data Manager Web Portal releases 4.x


Resolution is to:

1. Stop the TDM Portal Service.

2. Modify the below property in application.properties file (under C:\Program Files\CA\CA Test Data Manager Portal\conf ) to have full host name (abcdef.xyz.net in this example) as its value.

3. Restart the TDM Portal service.
