If I have a generic SMF formatted tape (with no Astex records types on it), can I take the CA-ASTEX merge utility and create an interval database with it?

Resolution

The records have to be ASTEX SMF records. Unless you are referring to the Migration Manager. Then you can use regular SMF records to build the MMC databases.
