Environment

Release: Any
Component: Chorus Software Manager

Cause

Some PTF's are found as being received in the global zone but they are "missing" from the SMPPTS dataset

Resolution

The reason for this exception is that the DDDEF for SMPPTS2 is missing in the target zone, so the APPLY CHECK could not find the sysmods needed to resolve the prerequisites.

Follow these steps and see if they solve your issue:

  1. Validate how many SMPPTS data sets you have allocated for this SMP/e CSI environment (*.SMPPTS, *.SMPPTS1, *.SMPPTS2 …)
  2. Using the SMP/E dialogs within ISPF, add the missing DDDEFs appropriately for Global, Target and Distribution zones
    1. SMP/E -> Administration -> Definition
    2. Select zone <enter>
    3. Select DDDEF
    4. Add the missing DDDEFs and model them after the SMPPTS being certain the correct data set name is referenced for each
  3. Get into CSM and from within the SMP/E Environments tab, Remove SMP/E Environment from CA CSM
  4. Migrate the same CSI back to CSM with the Migrate SMP/E Environment wizard found under Actions
  5. After successful migration, check the SMP/E Environment Information to verify that each zone contains the added DDDEFs
  6. Run the Upgrade CA RS Level wizard or maintenance process again
