VM:Backup High-Speed Disaster Recovery Option (HiDRO)

Issue/Introduction

There are a couple ways to determine what version of HiDRO you're running.
Try one of these commands, issued from VMANAGER:

SMSG HIDRO CMD SYBLEVEL

HIDRO VERSION

HIDRO

To get a copy of your HIDRO DEFAULTS, issue:

SMSG HIDRO CMD SYBDEF

To determine what HiDRO service you have applied and deployed, issue:
VMPTFS HIDRO

Environment

Release: 2.8
Component: HIDRO

Resolution

When sending information to CA/Broadcom Support, it's helpful to include the following:

  1. The QUERY CPLEVEL output
  2. The QUERY CMSLEVEL output
  3. The HIDRO defaults file
  4. The job LGmmddyy file
  5. The job SMmmddyy file
  6. The job FCmmddyy file ( if created)
  7. Console log

Sometimes, Support may need more messages than what's contained in the LG file. They may request all message types to be in the LG file. To get this information, login on to HiDRO, set Hidro Defaults, and change the USER CLASS message to an *.
This will result in every message being included in the job's LG file. When the problem has been resolved, if necessary, go back and change the USER CLASS to it's prior setting.
