Issue/Introduction

When trying to get into the CA Librarian CCF Admin Services option 11  LCDF function, getting a DEQUEUE message --

WED 04/12/17 --------------- CCF ENQUEUE FAILURE --------------------- 17.34.45

 COMMAND ===>

Option 12.11    is in use by ADMIN01  from MVS-ISPF as of 03/01/17 13.59.28

Option 12.11    may be acquired at this time, however, an update attempt by

ADMIN01  will be canceled.  Use the DEQUEUE command only to cancel an enqueue

that remains due to a system failure.

Press END/ENTER to return to the previous panel

                                       or

Enter DEQUEUE to acquire option 12.11

What is causing this and how should we proceed?

Environment

CA Librarian V4.4

Cause

To ensure data integrity of the system master file tables, LIB/CCF performs enqueue processing on the tables. Any access to one of the administrator suboptions enqueues or locks that option. When the administrator exits the option, the option is dequeued or unlocked.

If an abnormal termination occurs (that is, a system time-out or abend), it can cause an option to remain enqueued erroneously.  LIB/CCF provides a manual dequeue mechanism.

Resolution

If the id is your id, enter the DEQUEUE command.

If it was someone's id, check with that person first to see if they are actually using the ADMIN function or not.

  • If they are currently using the ADMIN function, wait until they are finished and exit the function.
  • If they are not using the function, enter the DEQUEUE command.
