Issue/Introduction

The name of my Unix machine is changing is there a hostname change procedure or do I need to deinstall and then reinstall?

Resolution

1. Either backup the entire $CAIGLBL0000 directory or make sure you have a reliable backup.
   
   
2. Shutdown Unicenter using this command:

     unishutdown all  unifstat

   Make sure no Unicenter components are active.
   
   
3. Find all $CAIGLBL0000 sub-directories with the old hostname:

     find $CAIGLBL0000 -type d -name '<old hostname>' -print

   Rename these directories with the new hostname.

     /tmp  /cci  /sche  opr/config

4. Modify the $CAIGLBL0000/cci/config/<new hostname>/ccirmtd.prf replacing any occurrences of the old hostname with the new.
