Issue/Introduction

After upgrading Datacom, I am getting RC 68 (1) trying to access the MUF running on a different LPAR. The error messages are:

DB00121I - UNAVAILABLE - DCOMSCH

DB00123I - WAITING FOR MUF AVAILABILITY
DB00124W - REMAINING DELAY68 TIME -    2 MINUTES
DB00124W - REMAINING DELAY68 TIME 0    1 MINUTES
DB00501E - OPEN ERROR - RETURN CODE 68 (001) CXX=                  MUFNAME=DCOMSCH

Environment

Datacom/DB

Cause

MUF has not been properly configured for XCF usage.

Resolution

If you are running jobs within a Sysplex and on LPARs other than where the MUF is running, you must enable the Datacom XCF option for cross-LPAR communications.

To enable XCF usage, please follow the instructions in Knowledge Base article 38170, titled "Configuring Datacom MUF for XCF use". Note that the MUF will need to be restarted if you changed the settings in DBSIDPR or the MUF Startup Options.

If you ran the AXRIM01 job to define the PC modules to the system, be sure to update your CAS9 proc on all LPARs where jobs will communicate with the MUF. By adding the CAIRIM commands into your command set for CAS9, these modules will be available following every IPL of those LPARs.

To test your XCF configuration, please review Knowledge Base article 17476, titled "Datacom test XCF connection to remote MUF", for processing details.
