Issue/Introduction

Describes the steps involved when recycling the Scheduler JM started task.

 

Resolution

The Scheduler started task must be recycled after any changes to the initialization options and LMP keys updates. These are the sequences of recycling Scheduler:

• Issue MVS command F caschd,SHUTDOWN or P caschd
• Execute program CAIRIM (CAS9) with the updated options.
• Issue MVS command S caschd

A Scheduler's APAR may require a recycling of the Scheduler started task before the APAR becomes effective. Here are the sequences of recycling Scheduler: 

• Issue MVS command F caschd,SHUTDOWN or P caschd
• Issue MVS command S caschd

When the Scheduler started task is brought up the very first time (such as after an IPL), the sequence of starting up Scheduler is as follows:

• Start  ENF
• Start  Datacom
• Start  Scheduler 

When bringing down the system, the sequence of shutdown is as follows:

• Stop Scheduler 
• Stop Datacom
• Stop ENF
