ASAP Cannot Connect Though ROC Can

In a high availability environment where a primary and secondary NAC are configured, Automation Studio (ASAP) will fail to connect, reporting the following error:

"Application error: unable to launch the application"

Meanwhile, users can connect to and login to Release Operations Center (ROC) successfully from the same workstation.


A third party device (such as a load balancer or similar device) is forwarding traffic from port 80 to another port (such as, for example, 8080).  ASAP does not support this configuration, as it must be able to connect over port 80.


This problem can occur in any environment in which a third party device (such as a load balancer, for example) is managing traffic.


Adjust the configuration of the device managing network traffic so that ASAP is able to consistently use port 80 for connections.
