Issue/Introduction

On some occasions, the job status info in WebUI/WCC Monitoring views stop updating.  It might also show up as  1 Jan 1970  /  31 Dec 1969

Cause

WebUI Monitoring cache is invalid and needs to be recollected fresh again. So, the monitoring cache needs to be deleted first (using wcc_monitor program) and WCC needs to be restarted after that for it to collect clean monitoring data.

Resolution

  1. Login to WCC URL -> monitoring tab -> servers ->  click on each of the servers defined there (do not expand each of those servers, just click on the server definition name).
  2. In the right pane, not down the number of jobs that exist there for that server
  3. Login to a command prompt on the WCC server.
  4. cd $CA_WCC_INSTALL_LOCATION/bin  (Windows: cd %CA_WCC_INSTALL_LOCATION%/bin)
  5. wcc_monitor.sh -d ALL -u <user-with-commander-authorization>    <hit enter>
NOTE: for Windows, it will be wcc_monitor.bat with the same arguments.
  6. Provide the password for the above user
  7. Restart CA-wcc-services  service
  8. Retest monitoring views to make sure the times listed there are correct

If WCC setup consists of 2 or more WCC nodes in a cluster, then follow below approach:

  • Stop CA-wcc-services service on all nodes except one node.
  • On the active node issue, follow the steps above to clean the monitoring cache.
  • Once WCC is functional, login to WCC UI from browser and wait until the job counts mentioned in Step#2 above go back to the counts seen earlier.
  • Then only start the WCC services on the remaining servers.
