Does CA Business Service Insight support 64-bit Windows and/or 64-bit Oracle?
CA Business Service Insight 8.3.5.x
CA Business Service Insight (BSI) 8.3.5.x is a 32-bit application. In addition, the Oracle drivers and code within BSI are for 32-bit Oracle. This means that while all the BSI 8.3.5.x components can be installed on a 64-bit OS, you would have to install 32-bit Oracle if everything is installed on the same box.
If the database for BSI is going to be on a separate box from the application server and other components, then you CAN use 64-bit Oracle for the database, but you would have to install the 32-bit Oracle client on the BSI box (or boxes) to connect to the 64-bit Oracle database.
Note: If the BSI database is on the same box as the BSI components, then installing a 64-bit database with a 32-bit client will not work out of the box and is not supported at this time, so the above 64-bit Oracle database only applies if the database is separate. If all BSI components are on the same box with Oracle, then Oracle must be entirely 32-bit.
The recently released CA Business Service Insight 9.0 version now supports 64-bit architecture.
