Issue/Introduction

What to do if your CA Business Service Insight (BSI) license has timed out.

Background:

The CA Business Service Insight license determines the numbers of entities (Adapters, Concurrent Users, Contracts, Metrics, Contract parties, Reports and Users) that can be used.

When a license times out, any existing connections to BSI will stop working and report errors stating "You are not authorized to view the page".

If you end your session and try to re-login, the default page should be redirected directly to the license page. Even after you have successfully logged in you must correct the license before continuing. After entering the proper license information, you will have to close your current browser session and re-login again for the license changes to be effective. All users will have to re-login for their screens to be updated as well.

License updates can be obtained as needed through Broadcom Licensing by opening a non-technical Support Case.

Once the new license has been received, copy the license and the Key into the corresponding fields under Administration-> License Management from the BSI UI.

License updates should be immediate, but when certain features like the number of licensed metrics have been exceeded recycling services such as the PSLWriters may be necessary.
