Issue/Introduction

When configuring a new Access or Admin Role, selecting the Member or Owner Policy "Users who are members of admin role" fails to return any results in the browse window. This issue occurs when searching for specific roles by name or using a wildcard search.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.5

Cause

The user attempting to configure the policy lacks the necessary administrative permissions. Specifically, they do not have an assigned Admin Role that includes a scope rule allowing them to manage Admin Role objects.

Resolution

  1. Identify an Admin Role that provides management rights for Admin Role objects.
  2. Ensure the user is assigned this Admin Role.
  3. Verify that the Admin Role's member policy includes a scope rule specifically permitting management of "Admin Role" objects.
  4. Log out and log back into the Identity Manager console to refresh permissions.
  5. Attempt the search again in the Member/Owner Policy configuration window.
