CA User Activity Reporting

Issue/Introduction

You cannot access your CA User Activity Reporting Module - UARM (formerly CA Enterprise Log Manager (CAELM)) functions via your Embedded Entitlements Management (EEM) account. By default the EEM account does not have 'administrator' permissions to UARM. In order to have

'Administrator' permissions to UARM, you need to use your EEM account to create an administrator account for User Activity Reporting Module (formerly CA Enterprise Log Manager).

Environment

Release:
Component: CAELM

Resolution

You need to select the proper EEM application instance name during this procedure. By default the application name is "CAELM" but it could be any name provided during the installation process of UARM.

  1. To create a UARM administrator account:

1a. Login to Embedded Entitlements Management using your eiamadmin account ID and UARM application name

    • url will be similar to: https:\\<EEM_machine_ip>:5250/spin/eiam/

1b. Access the "Manage Identities" Tab

1c. Under the "Users" section (left hand side), click on the person icon, to the left on the users folder. This will open a "new users" form. If you have already configured EEM to use a user directory then select an existing user.

1d. Enter the desired user account name in the Folder : "Name" field. If using a user directory this step is not needed.

1.e Click on "Add Application User Details"

1f. Under "Available User Groups" highlight "Administrator"; and click the large, right-pointing arrow

    • (You may also select the Analyst and Auditor entries as suits your needs)

1g. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and enter (and confirm) a password if you are not using an external user directory.

    1h. Click the "Save" button

  2. Once this user is created, use this account to access your CA User Activity Reporting Module (formerly CA Enterprise Log Manager (CAELM)

    • url will be similar to: https:\\<UARM_machine_ip>:5250/spin/calm/

2a. Access the "Administrator" tab to verify the sub-items are 'not' grayed-out (Log Collection, Library, Services, Archival Management, and User and Access Management
  •

"IF" you set this account to Administrator, Analyst, and Auditor; you should have full access to every tab and sub-tab in UARM (formerly CA Enterprise Log Manager).
