Issue/Introduction

The issue is that we just upgraded CA 1 to v14.0, and we are testing ISPF option - 'INQ/UPD'.

I want to update fields for a tape volume, and enter my usual password in the 'Security Profile' field,
but it generates error: "TMS PROFILE NOT FOUND".

Pressing F1 displays: "E005 THE TMS PROFILE ENTERED IS INVALID - RE-ENTER THE CORRECT PROFILE".

Environment

z/OS. ISPF interface.

Cause

An incorrect security profile (password) was entered.

Resolution

1.       Determine which TMOSECxx member is resident by:

a)       Reviewing the latest TMSINIT output

or

b)      Run utility TMSSTATS,PARM=’OPT’ to report on the internal control tables currently resident
 in the operating system.

2.       Browse the appropriate CTAPOPTN member (E.g, TMOSEC00):

a)       Locate the appropriate ‘PROFILE=’ statement and make a note of the value,

(E.g, ‘PROFILE=USERUPD’).

3.       Enter the value “USERUPD” in the ‘Security Profile’ field on the Primary Option Menu.

Additional Information

At the Volume Inquiry Display screen for a volume, you may decide to update one or more of the fields.
With the cursor positioned at the command prompt, type U (for Update) and press ENTER.
Make any necessary changes to the fields directly on the screen, and press ENTER to submit the update.
You must press ENTER a second time to confirm the update before the request is processed.
