Issue/Introduction

Can we use EXPIRATION DATE or MANAGEMENT CLASS to select data sets in MIGRATE?

Resolution

There is no selection criteria for expiration date or management class with MIGRATE.

As a workaround, customers can generate an ISPF Report member that would be executed in a batch job via SPFRPTS= to list DSNAME, MCNAME, EXPDT,
and then generate/compose MIGRATE DSN= commands from this output in a subsequent step.

Another option is if you have Vantage, go to the object: Data Set Management/All Data Sets
Then, you can Filter to select the data sets you want to Migrate based on any factor that you wish.
Then simply click:  Actions: 'CA Disk Migrate'.  The job is submitted and you are done.
