When setup.exe is executed to install the PIM agent, a dialog box with the message "Install log open fail, Please check the path is exist and has write permission".

(Note that this message is translated from Chinese to English for this document, so the message may not be exactly the same on an English, or other language, version of Windows.)

Release: ACP1M005900-12.9-Privileged Identity Manager

This was due to an older version of PIM/ControlMinder/Access Control having been installed and then uninstalled on this server. The previous uninstall had left HKLM\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\Shared in the registry.

This key was deleted using regedit and the install went ahead correctly.
