Issue/Introduction

We could see that below errors are coming in adminui server.log during the startup. We are using external administration in our environment and LDAP is the external store.

2017-02-11 13:54:12,725 ERROR [ims.llsdk.directory.jndi] (MSC service thread 1-1) VLV Controls not functional: javax.naming.NamingException: LDAP response read timed out, timeout used:-1ms.; remaining name 'o=xyz'

at com.sun.jndi.ldap.Connection.readReply(Connection.java:478) [rt.jar:1.8.0_31]

2017-02-11 13:54:27,756 ERROR [stderr] (MSC service thread 1-1) javax.naming.NamingException: JBAS011843: Failed instantiate InitialContextFactory com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory from classloader ModuleClassLoader for Module "deployment.iam_siteminder.ear.user_console.war:main" from Service Module Loader [Root exception is javax.naming.NamingException: LDAP response read timed out, timeout used:-1ms.]

Also sometimes we get these errors during Configure Administrative Authentication, we cannot set up the Super User ID as the Wizard can not find administrative user.

Cause

This error is related to the Java JDK which is used by the adminui.

Below are the two different Oracle bugs that related to the error.

Environment

AdminUI r12.52 sp2 on windows 2012 r2, Java 1.8.0_31

Resolution

Please upgrade the java used by the adminui to Java 1.8.0_77 (here java version is 1.8.0_31).

Please follow below steps.

1) Take the backup of runtime folder from "PS_HOME\adminui".

2) Run jdk-8u77-windows-i586.exe and have it install its items somewhere, then copy the contents of the new “…\jdk1.8.0_77” folder into "PS_HOME\adminui\runtime”

OR You can choose the installation path to PS_HOME\adminui\runtime

3) Restart Admin UI
