Applying a threshold profile to specific interfaces/components

Issue/Introduction

Want to create a threshold profile for only one particular interface. A collection has been created to include the interface/component, monitoring profile is created and the collection is assigned to that monitoring profile. Event is not getting generated for the interface.

Device is included in the collection and now event is generated for all interfaces under that device.

How to configure monitoring profiles for a specific interface/component

Environment

DX NetOps Performance Management all supported versions.

Cause

Collections should not be used to filter interfaces to apply a monitoring profile. Groups should be used instead.
Also using a device based group with "Include the children of managed items" does not allow for excluding specific interfaces/components.

Resolution

Create a group to include the desired interface(s)/component(s) and assign the group to the monitoring profile. It will resolve the issue.
