RC/Update for DB2 for z/OS

Issue/Introduction

In RC/Update for Db2 for z/OS (RCU) when editing a table, on the RC/Edit Options panel, how to modify the default value of 'LOCK TABLE FOR EDIT' for all users.

Resolution

In the hlq.CDBAPARM update the RCEDIT member to set ENLOCK to the value desired using the EP (Edit Parmlib Members) option under General Facilities on the Main Menu.

Y - ENFORCE THE TABLE LOCK OPTION

N - DO NOT ENFORCE TABLE LOCK OPTION

The lock table value is ignored if the UPDATE METHOD is Searched.  If the update method is Positional and the Lock Table is N a warning will appear recommending the table be locked.

Additional Information

Editing the RCEDIT member manually is not recommended. Parameters that are manually changed through the member are not validated. The member may also
not contain new options and changes that have been made. Using invalid parameters results in RC/Update failing. To validate the parameter values when editing
the RCEDIT parmlib member, use the Setup option on the Post-Install Tailoring panel or the Edit Parmlib Member RCEDIT panel.
