How to migrate release 11.0/11.5 option file to release 11.6

Issue/Introduction

Below are two options on how to best create a new option file for release 11.6 and also migrate the values contained in the release 11/11.5 option file to the new release 11.6 option file.

 

Environment

Easytrieve Report Generator, release 11.6

Resolution

Option 1:

1. Run the JOB06OP1 job to create the new r11.6 EZOPTBL option file,
   
   
2. Compare the default settings of the new r11.6 option file to the settings of your existing pre-11.6 option file.
   
   (To list option file settings for either release, run job JOB06OP2. Instructions are in the JCL.)
   
   
3. Any changes can be incorporated into your new r11.6 option file by running the JOB06OP2 job.

Option 2:

1. Run the JOB06OP1 job to create the new r11.6 EZOPTBL option file,
   
   
2. Run an IEBGENER to copy the EZOPTBL from any r11 release prior to r11.6 to the new EZOPTBL.

MOV64OPT job should have been run when upgrading from release 6.4 to release 11/11.5. If so, then there is no need to rerun that job.

Please also copy your EZTPOPT module from your existing r11 release prior to r11.6 CAILIB to your new r11.6 CBAALOAD.
