Issue/Introduction

Occasionally the following error messages may be issued when the user tries to access the OPSVIEW panel 4.5.1 - AOF Control:

RUNNING OPAOCM LINE 0: COMPILER WORK SPACE OVERFLOW (1976 1024)         

ERROR 5 RUNNING OPAOCM, LINE 0: MACHINE RESOURCES EXHAUSTED, CODE=3     

ERROR 45 RUNNING OP450000, LINE 60: NO DATA SPECIFIED ON FUNCTION RETURN

If the TSO user sets PROFILE MSGID the following message prefixes may appear:

 OPS0998E RUNNING OPAOCM LINE 0: COMPILER WORK SPACE OVERFLOW (1976 1024)       

 OPS1005I ERROR 5 RUNNING OPAOCM, LINE 0: MACHINE RESOURCES EXHAUSTED, CODE=3   

 OPS1045I ERROR 45 RUNNING OP450000, LINE 60: NO DATA SPECIFIED ON FUNCTION RETURN                                                                              

Environment

CA OPS/MVS, z/OS, TSO, ISPF

Cause

The errors occur because the AOF REXX WORKSPACE set for this user is too small for the number of rulesets and rules defined on this system.
The instructions of this article are applicable only when the error occurs accessing an OPSVIEW panel under TSO/ISPF.
The same messages can be produced in other situations that are not covered here.

Resolution

Go to OPSVIEW panel 0.1 (0 Parms; 1  General Settings) and increase the value of the parameter "AOF REXX WorkSpace" (default is 1.5m):
