Issue/Introduction

One Endevor Natural interface (EINE) user gets a rc 50 on a Retrieve -

 NAT9987 Natural session terminated abnormally - RC=050.

How do we determine what the problem is?

Cause

The error is occurring in the CATLSTEP step because the work file is empty and getting the following:

                  *** Load Objects ***
 Invalid header record.
 Work file record: 1EINE=YES
 Error detected in OLNLOAD.

 SYSOBJH: Error occurred during direct command processing!
 Error:  3001
 Invalid header record.
 Work file record: 1EINE=YES
 Error detected in OLNLOAD.
 
 SYSOBJH terminates with condition code 50
 NAT9987 Natural session terminated abnormally - RC=050.

 Work file record: EINE
 Error detected in OLNLOAD.

Resolution

Check the Endevor Retrieve step for the following error message: 

C1U0970E  EXIT 2 - RETRIEVE ACTION DENIED - REPLACE=N SPECIFIED AND OBJECT EXISTS IN NATURAL LIBRARY

The Natural element is not retrieved from Endevor for the Natural CATALL step because it already exists in the Natural library.  

Retrieve the Natural element again and specify: REPLACE=Y
