Issue/Introduction

To MOVE SMS data sets requires the TOVOL= parameter.

Resolution

Using the MOVE function to move SMS data sets from one group of SMS volumes to another group of SMS volumes can result in this error if all the neededparameters are not specified:

 	ADSVC019 2628 THE LIST OF TARGET VOLUME CANDIDATES IS EMPTY. 

The cause is that the TOVOL= parameter is required on the MOVE command for SMS managed non-VSAM datas sets so that the volume list can be built.

TOVOL is optional for SMS VSAM data sets.

The TOVOL can be specified with volser patterns, or just: TOVOL=(/)
