Issue/Introduction

Gen 8.6 online block mode transactions that are defined to use TSQ for the Profile Table may see a high usage of TSQs that are not cleaned up after the end-users logoff the CICS region.
Can those TSQs be deleted?

Environment

Gen 8.6 CICS block mode applications

Resolution

Per doc. page Specify Target Environment for HE > Target Application Environment, a restartable application supports screen clear, other transaction execution, and using the RESTART command to return to the application.
The Profile Table is needed for applications which use the RESTART feature. If that feature is not used then the TSQs can be cleaned up periodically.

The TIRQCNTX user exit can also be used to set the TSQ name and set whether main or auxiliary storage is used: z/OS User Exits > z/OS Blockmode User Exits - CICS > TIRQCNTX - TSQ Profile Manager Exit
