Issue/Introduction
DTS Transfers do not work for machines with long fully qualified domain names (FQDN).
This problem is seen usually on machines hosted on a cloud platform like Azure.
Cause
Virtual machines hosted on Azure Cloud seem to get a long FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) ranging between 50-70 characters based on the Azure server they get hosted on. This can break any application if it does not support large FQDN.
Environment
CA Client Automation Version - 12.8, 12.8 FP1, 12.9, 14.0, 14.0 SP1
Resolution
Please open a support case if there are DTS transfer issues and the FQDN of the machines involved is more than 50 characters.
