Issue/Introduction

This document describes the most reliable method for determining if the current task is a queue-initiated task.

Environment

Release: All supported releases.

Resolution

The best way to determine whether or not the current task is a queue-initiated task is to test that the field TCEQDEA is non-zero.

L     R3,TCEQDEA
LTR   R3,R3
BZ    NOTQ          Bif not q-initiated

Formerly, TCEQATC might have been used for this purpose, but r16.0 APAR RO00981, introduced a design change which made TCEQATC obsolete. RO00981 is fixed-in-source in r17.0 and all subsequent releases.
