Many times the person or group that installs a CA Datacom product is not the same person or group that installs a CA Common Services component.
The version and level of CA Common Services is important information to know when installing or upgrading a CA Datacom product or when requiring support assistance.
Release: Any
Component: CA Datacom/DB
CA Datacom/AD
To determine the release and level of CA Common Services, locate the ENF started task (STC) job output and look for the CAS9075I message.
Or, if you have authorization, issue the operator console command: MVS F ENF,STATUS and locate the CAS9075I message in the system log.
For CA Common Services versions 15.0, you will find one of the following CAS9075I messages:
CAS9075I - Service(CA-ENF/BASE ) Vers(1500) Genlvl(F000AW100)
For EOS CA Common Services versions 14.1 or 14.0, you will find one of the following CAS9075I messages:
CAS9075I - Service(CA-ENF/BASE ) Vers(1400) Genlvl(E100AW100)
CAS9075I - Service(CA-ENF/BASE ) Vers(1400) Genlvl(E000AW100)
The "vv" of VERS(vv00) and the "v" of GENLVL(vnnnxxxxxxx) indicates CA Common Services version 14.
The "nnn" of GENLVL(vnnnxxxxxxx) indicates the level:
"E100" is version 14.1 (E is 14 in hexadecimal and 1 is the level).
"E000" is version 14.0 (E is 14 in hexadecimal and 0 is the level).
Likewise, for former EOS CA Common Services version 11.0:
CAS9075I - Service(CA-ENF/BASE ) Vers(V1.0) Genlvl(B008W1100)
The "B008" of "Genlvl(B008W1100)" is version 11 (hex B) and level 008, thus CA Common Services version 11.0 SP08.
You can also find the level by browsing load module CAS9GLVL from your CA Common Services CAW0LINK load library in the link list.
