When is the XPS (Cross Platform Scheduling Router) required for Scheduler Job Management.

Common Components and Services for z/OS

Resolution

XPS cross platform scheduling component is required when a request to Scheduler to submit a job to run on the z/OS system originates from the Autosys Workload Automation.

XPS is NOT required when a request to run jobs originates from Scheduler to Autosys Workload Automation.

XPS FMID is available for installation from the Common Services for z/OS product. 

XPS also provides some useful utilities for cross-platform, such as the program CAXPINQU to display all of the CAICCI nodes known to z/OS (equivalent of the CCII command on Windows NT or Unix). You may want to have XPS installed just to have access to these utilities.
