Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to change the default port 5250 that is used in EEM/EIAM

Environment

Release: 12.6 or higher
Component:  CA Service Desk Manager

EEM, all releases

Resolution

This is not possible, as stated as recently as the EEM r12.6 Documentation. You can add an additional listening port for it, but it is impossible to close the port 5250 or change it to another port.

The reason it cannot be changed is that the port number has been hardcoded in the EEM SDK for the communication to the EEM Server. The EEM SDK is the client side component that the embedding products use to contact the EEM server for authentication and authorization. All embedding products that utilize EEM server connect to it using port 5250.
