Issue/Introduction

Layer 7 Gateway running on hardware appliance comes included with an out-of-band management solution from the hardware vendor. This allows administrative users to inspect, configure, and interact with the hardware appliance in various ways for troubleshooting or analysis even when the server is powered off.

Environment

All supported versions of the API Gateway

Resolution

Credentials for the ILOM

The default credentials for the Oracle ILOM are as follows:
Username: root
Password: changeme

If these credentials do not work then the credentials will need to be reset manually. This process requires physical access to the hardware appliance. The procedure for this is documented by Oracle here.

Logging in to the ILOM

The ILOM can be accessed via HTTPS in a normal web browse by navigating to https://gateway-ilom.example.com (where gateway-ilom.example.com corresponds to the hostname or IP address assigned to the ILOM's network interface). An authentication dialog will be printed as shown:

After authenticating, the following menu ribbon will be available. Select the User Management tab and choose the User Accounts option as shown:

This page will list the current users. By default, only the root user exists. Select the user and click the Edit button.

After selecting a user, a dialog will be available to change the password to a new set of credentials. Provide the new credentials in the dialog box displayed below:
