Issue/Introduction

Spectrum Alarm Notification Manager (SANM) filter using a Topology filter is not recognizing alarms on Topology models as expected. The following is an example of the filter created:

 

With this filter in place, when a critical alarm is received on the East or West topology models, SANM is not recognizing this alarm according to this filter and no notification is sent.

Cause

The Topology filter is not used to filter alarms on the name of the topology models listed in this filter. This is used to check for the topologies listed in this filter against the value of the ToplogyModelNameString attribute id 0x129e7 of the model that is in alarm state.

 

Resolution

RESOLUTION:  Edit the filter and remove the Topology filter and add the model names of the topology models to the Model Name filter:
