Issue/Introduction

"DEVICE HAS STOPPED RESPONDING TO POLLS" alarm on  VMware Virtual Machine Pingable models in Spectrum even though you can ping the model. If the model is selected and pinged from within OneClick, the alarm will clear but then be reasserted a few seconds later.

Cause

Virtual Host Manager is creating multiple VMWare Virtual Machine Pingable models with the same ip address. A user has placed at least one of these duplicate VMWare Virtual Machine Pingable models into Maintenance Mode.

Resolution

To correct the problem, delete the VMWare Virtual Machine Pingable model that contains an ip address only and not a mac address. Keep the VMWare Virtual Machine Pingable model that has both an ip address and a mac address.
